The Vorpal Blade (Alice: Madness Returns)

A friend of mine was cosplaying Alice from the video game Alice: Madness returns, so I decided to make her the Vorpal Blade.

Materials

I used mdf, paper mache and paper mache clay. It was all hand painted!

Making the Vorpal Blade

The handle began as a piece of mdf which I shaped with a saw (fun times XD) and coated in paper mache clay to shape it as you see above.

I also made the blade from mdf, which I shaped with both a saw and a penknife. This was then covered in paper mache.

The blade was then painted in silver, with detailing in black. It was attached to the handle securely, with green stuff! (Google it if you don't know what it is)

After attaching the blade to the handle, I painted the handle black and, once the paint was dry, painted the detailing onto the handle with modelling paint.

Once all detailing was complete, I left the Vorpal Blade to dry.
